Stolen Special Moments

by Carol Seitz

Carol Seitz, a retired high school Spanish teacher, who resides in West Woburn, shares how she captures special moments in the midst of challenging times.

“In some ways, I am very lucky. My children’s families and my husband and I decided at the beginning of the quarantine that the three families would be a “bubble,” although we don’t physically live together. That means that I am able to help home school my first grader in N. Attleboro, as well as spend Saturday afternoons baking with my two granddaughters here in Woburn.

I read somewhere that these are “stolen moments.” And, indeed, that is true.

I think of that when I’m sitting, working on reading with my first grader or explaining how many teaspoons are in a tablespoon when my fifth grader is deciphering a recipe for a white cake. Yes, these are difficult times, but here are silver linings.”

Carol also finds enjoyment in “seeing how the library is changing and adapting to the new world.”
